Club’s $25,000 donation to help build a cover over school’s playground

DOVER – Students at the Willis Peters Exceptional Learning Center may soon get to use the school playground year round, thanks to the efforts of the Plant City Lions Club. The club presented a $25,000 donation to the school on Jan. 26 to help build a cover for the playground and courtyard so that students with special needs can play in the area during hot summer months. The project will cost a total of $100,000. Additional money will be raised through Lions International, the Hillsborough County School District, and private donations as well as club fundraisers.
