PLANT CITY – The Plant City Commons Community Garden celebrated Earth Day with beating drums and rattles during the organization’s annual Earth Day Fest. About 80 people attended the April 17 event which included a garden tour, dinner and drumming circle led by Diane and Branson Munton. Durant drama teacher takes final bow

PLANT CITY – Edward “Ed” Mason, Durant High School drama and English teacher, will retire at the end of this school year after the drama department’s end-of-the-year production, “The New Mel Brooks Musical Young Frankenstein.” The productions will be held at 7 p.m. Thursday, Friday and Saturday in the Durant High School auditorium, 4748 Cougar Path.
