Several roads in downtown Tampa, Davis Islands and the Bayshore Boulevard area will experience closures during Saturday and Sunday mornings for race weekend.
On Saturday, the day of the 15k and 5k road races, the Tampa Police Department will conduct road closures from 3 a.m. until early afternoon.
It is a similar situation for road closures Sunday for the half marathon and 8k.
The major roads affected each day are Bayshore Boulevard; Brorein Street and the Brorein Street bridge; Platt Street and the Platt Street bridge; Channelside Drive near the Tampa Convention Center; and, for Sunday, several of the major thoroughfares of Davis Islands.
Bridges accessing Tampa General Hospital on Davis Islands will remain open to motorists each day, but partial lane closures will occur early Sunday morning to accommodate runners in the half marathon.
During the 15k, most of Bayshore Boulevard will be closed to traffic from 6 a.m. until noon, or as determined by the Tampa Police Department. Residents and workers in the South Tampa, Davis Islands and downtown Tampa area are encouraged to avoid driving in these areas during the morning hours each day.
