9-year-old finds loaded gun in Ybor theater
The drama wasn't just on the screen Monday when a 9-year-old boy found a loaded gun in a Tampa movie theater Sunday afternoon. Police said the boy was at the theater at Centro Ybor on 8th Avenue with his father shortly after 3 p.m. Sunday. The boy went into an empty stall in the restroom and quickly emerged, saying, 'Daddy, there is a gun in here.''' The father, who has a concealed weapons permit, called 911 and police came and took the Glock 26 pistol. The department will process the gun to find the owner and if it had been used in a crime.
